Whitekirk golf club’s hotel plans are another step closer
A plan for a new 100 bedroom hotel at Whitekirk Golf and Country Club took a major step forward this week as a new era for its future development was announced.
George Tuer, the club’s chairman and founder, and the directors of Whitekirk Development Ltd, has sold the existing golf and leisure club business to Whitekirk Consortium Limited and Prestige Hotel Management Limited which will operate the new hotel.
It is believed Mr Tuer will still be involved in the development plans for 42 houses and 21 holiday lodges, which, like the hotel, have already received outline consent from East Lothian Council.
It is understood from WCL that, through Prestige, it will operate the hotel under the banner of a well-known four star international brand, full details of which will become available next year when a detailed planning application is lodged with the council. With immediate effect, Prestige will be taking over the running of the existing golf course, clubhouse and leisure complex.
