War hero Micky loses both legs
He has just undergone his 19th operation in the space of a month after having both of his legs blown off in Afghanistan, but Wallyford para Sergeant Michael Yule is already talking of Paralympic glory.
The 31-year-old, known as Micky, is determined to keep a positive attitude, despite suffering life-threatening injuries.
"What he said when he came round was he wants to go into every event he can in the disabled Olympics. Whatever he does he wants to be the best." explained his aunt Anne Sheridan.
"He keeps saying he is lucky, because he sees other people coming back with no arms.
Suffered
"He is trying to keep his spirits up and is cracking jokes. He was leading a group looking for IEDs and he keeps saying 'as you can see, I found one'."
The Royal Engineer lost both legs above the knee, has had numerous skin grafts to his hands and arm and suffered a broken pelvis and damage to his internal organs after taking the full blast of a roadside explosive device while on patrol in Helmand.
