Union event launches in East Lothian

Pencaitland was chosen by Alistair Darling MP for the first in a series of listening events being organised across Scotland by the Better Together campaign.

Hosted by Sir Francis Ogilvy, the former Chancellor met local businesspeople at Winton House house on Monday as chairman of the cross-party campaign, which is making the positive case for Scotland’s role within the UK.

The Edinburgh South West MP listened to their views on the key issues surrounding the debate on Scotland’s future and the implications of the 2014 independence referendum.

In the coming weeks he will continue his tour, meeting a range of groups, including charities, businesses, veterans’ associations and trade unions.
