Trust directors elected for Haddington
Seven directors have been elected to lead the new Haddington Community Development Trust.
They were selected at a public meeting in the Corn Exchange this week.
The trust is being formed to take forward plans for the regeneration of the town centre, developed last year by the Haddington Vision Group in consultation with the local community.
The successful candidates were: Hilary Dickson, currently owner of Hilary’s Deli in Haddington who was the manager of the Lamp of Lothian Trust for 12 years; Martin Hayman, a fund-raising consultant based in Haddington; Lilian Pryde, a local government officer for 24 years; Andrew Robinson, a chartered town planner who is involved with Haddington and District Amenity Society and the vision group; local councillor Tom Trotter; William Wood who has been involved with the voluntary sector since 2005 including general manager of a charity providing community facilities and a music festival, and chairman of a charity providing mental health and learning disability services; and Paul Darling, ex Royal Navy, who worked in construction for four years and has been employed by East Lothian Council since 1996, firstly as a community assistant at Longniddry, then full-time caretaker at the Corn Exchange, Haddington.
