Tranent Lodge extends a welcome

East Lothian residents are invited to an “Orange Awareness” day being held in Tranent this weekend.

The event is being hosted by the Loyal Orange County Grand Lodge of the East, along with East Lothian Loyal Orange Lodge 44, at the Blair Halls, St Martin’s Lane, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday.

It is hoped that members of the local community will take the opportunity to come along and learn more about the organisation and its culture.

“Our Order is often perceived as being a secret organisation, and this is an image which we are attempting to change by opening our doors and inviting members of the public in,” explained Dave Reynolds, secretary of LOL District 44.

“All visitors on Saturday will have the opportunity to meet and speak with our County and District Officials and ask any questions they have about our institution.”
