Tough action is being taken in a bid to stamp out the scourge of dog fouling in Gullane and North Berwick.

The area around Gullane Primary School and the beach at Gullane Bents are being targeted by East Lothian Council’s community warden Greg McGown, who has been issuing £40 fixed penalty fines to offenders since New Year.

He stressed: “I will continue to make every effort to reduce dog fouling in the area and would appreciate that the public work with me to enable this to happen. Patrols are carried out on a regular basis and more patrols are planned. These can be at any time of the day and at any location within the area.”
