Teenagers look to cement new career at Dunbar cement works

Two new recruits have started work at Lafarge cement works at Dunbar following a restart of the site’s apprenticeship programme.

Fraser Flockhart (18) from North Berwick, is a mechanical apprentice and Matthew Foreman, who is also 18, will work as an electrical apprentice.

Works manager Nigel Blair said he was delighted the plant has been able to get the scheme up and running again after being on hold for two years due to the downturn in the construction industry.
