Stub out smoking forever

A new year and full of good intentions?

One of the most common resolutions is to give up smoking but research has shown smokers are more likely to succeed in giving up the habit if they have support.

The Scottish Government has launched a national campaign to show what support is out there and has also teamed up with Asda, which has created an alternative shopping list showing that money saved could feed a family of four for a week.

Minister for Public Health, Michael Matheson, said: “Quitting smoking is the one of the best things someone can do to improve their health.

“By quitting you can reduce the risk of a heart attack or coronary heart disease and as our new campaign shows it can also bring big savings when household budgets are tight.”
