Musselburgh residents are being asked to back the “flotation” of the town’s first coastal rowing project.
The recently established Eskmuthe Rowing Club is issuing £10 shares to locals who wish to have a stake in the boat-racing venture.
The project will be run under the auspices of the Sottish Coastal Rowing Association, formed in 2010 to promote rowing and racing around the country’s coastline and lochs.
Communities are encouraged to become involved in the building and rowing of St Ayles Skiffs, using the sea for fitness, friendship, and competition.
More than £1,000 has already been raised locally for the Musselburgh skiff, currently being constructed in the powerhouse at Prestongrange Museum by a team of volunteers.
