Preparation are well under way for Prestonpans Children’s Gala following the announcement of this year’s court.

The event on Saturday, June 15 will see Cerys Bellany crowned as the 2013 Gala Queen by Honourable Gentleman Tommy Duncan. Her Escort for the day will be fellow Prestonpans Primary School pupil Connor Orphant.

As it finalises this year’s programme the committee is urging local residents to get into the gala spirit by decorating their houses, dressing up and joining the parade.

“The turn out of people last year was really great despite the rain. It showed the community still loves a gala day,” said a spokesman.

“This year the week leading up to the gala day will be full of events for all from toddlers to seniors. Events will be advertised nearer the time and there will be gala programme’s on sale.”
