Police hunt Musselburgh flasher

A man with distinctive waist length hair is being hunted by police after exposing himself to a young woman in Musselburgh last week.

The 21-year-old was walking through Eskmills Industrial Estate about 11am on Wednesday, November 28, when a man approached her just around the corner from the Job Centre.

He made a number of inappropriate remarks before exposing himself to her, at which point she walked away and lost sight of the man.

The suspect is described as being white, slim, in his mid-20s, around 5ft 7ins tall, with long dark straight hair to his waist. He was wearing brown or navy combat trousers, a black jumper and black boots.

Detective Constable Ian Campbell said: “While the man did not touch her at any point, this has been a terrible experience for the young woman involved and she is understandably shaken as a result. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in Eskmills Industrial Estate that morning, and who may know or recognise this man with very distinctive long dark hair that hangs down to his waist. We are following a positive line of inquiry, but anyone with information should contact.”

Information can be passed to Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
