Police appeal after jewellery theft in Gullane

Police in East Lothian are investigating a housebreaking in Gullane where a number of items of jewellery were stolen.

The incident happened sometime between February 28 and March 6, from a property in Main Street.

The rear window to the property was forced open and jewellery worth thousands of pounds was stolen.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “At this time we are urging residents to secure their property against housebreakings, by ensuring that their doors, windows and any outbuildings such as garages and sheds are secure.

“Anyone who has any information that can assist police in their enquiries should contact 101, or make a report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
