Parents in protest over nursery place provision in Prestonpans
A public meeting has been organised by parents in Prestonpans to protest about the lack of nursery places in the town.
The meeting, on Thursday, November 15, has been organised by Prestonpans Infant School Parent Council on behalf of local families who fear their children could be at a disadvantage when starting school.
They will be demanding that East Lothian Council takes urgent action to ensure that nursery provision keeps pace with the area’s growing population.
The parent council claims that up to 50 three-year-olds in the town are currently being denied a place at nursery.
Chairman Iain Scott said parents were concerned about the impact this could have on future learning and attainment.
