Panto stars at Musselburgh parade

The countdown to Christmas gets underway in Musselburgh on Sunday when families and local organisations are expected to turn out in force the annual torchlight parade.

Musselburgh and Inveresk Community Council is adding the finishing touches to the event, which also features an open air carol service and the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights by the stars of this year’s Brunton Theatre panto.

The parade will assemble at the Old Town Hall from 5.45pm, in preparation for a 6pm start. Participants are asked to take along their own ‘torches,’ though naked flames will not be allowed.

The procession will be led by three locals bands as it makes its way along the High Street to the Brunton Hall for the traditional carol service.
