North Berwick walkway is opened

Ribbon cutting ceremony to mark opening of new walkway between nursery and community centre, North Berwick Nursery School.

A pedestrian walkway from North Berwick Nursery School to the nearby community centre was officially opened on Monday to launch East Lothian’s Walk to School Week.

The school’s parents’ committee campaigned for a safer route through the car park and are delighted with the results of their efforts.

Parent Ali Buchanan said: “We would like to thank all those involved in the creation of the walkway. Children and parents alike are already finding it a safer route through the car park.”
