North Berwick centre is a winner
Tom Brock receives Thistle Award.
The North Berwick-based Scottish Seabird Centre has scooped a top tourism accolade.
The visitor attraction faced stiff competition in the best nature based experience category at this year’s Thistle Awards from Wilderness Scotland in Aviemore, Deveron, Bogie & Isla Rivers Charitable Trust in Aberdeenshire and Cream ‘o’ Galloway in Dumfries & Galloway.
Organised by VisitScotland, the awards celebrate excellence and quality within the tourism industry and were presented at a glittering ceremony at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow.
Tom Brock OBE, chief executive of the Scottish Seabird Centre, said: “To win this award is a fantastic achievement for our wonderful team of staff and volunteers who are committed to giving all our visitors a truly unique and fun wildlife experience. We want to make more people aware of Scotland’s amazing wildlife – without disturbing it. Thank you and congratulations to everyone involved with the Seabird Centre.”
