New fund gives Musselburgh woman’s venture the edge
Appointedd founder Leah Hutcheon accepts her award from John Swinney MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance
Burgh entrepreneur Leah Hutcheon has secured start-up funding of £30,000 as she tries to fashion a future in the hair and beauty industry.
The 33-year-old, from Stoneybank Terrace, decided to pursue her own venture after being made redundant from her previous job as a magazine editor.
She is delighted to receive the backing of Scottish EDGE, a fund created by the Scottish Government to provide seed capital for young and growing businesses.
Leah’s business, Appointedd, is an innovative business management system for the hair, beauty and spa industry, which allows businesses to take online bookings from their own website or Facebook page.
The company has also developed a dynamic booking and review website that will allow consumers to browse and book a multitude of salons in one place at www.appointedd.com.
