Musselburgh school shows app-titude

Loretto pupils with new smart phone app.

Loretto pupils with new smart phone app.

Loretto School in Musselburgh has launched an innovative smart phone app to give parents, pupils and the wider school community instant information at their fingertips.

The first of its kind in Scotland, and across the UK, the iPhone and Android app promises to make it easier for users to keep up-to -date with the school’s ever changing activities, timetables and news.

It includes school calendars, a news feed and enables families to tailor the app’s contents to pupils’ extra-curricular activities.

Any changes to the information, such as a match being cancelled or a bus delay is updated to the app. The app provides even richer functionality for parents to use such as Google Maps showing venues of away sports matches, two-way alerts ‘real-time’ sport match reports, offline access support and social sharing options.
