Musselburgh phonebox raided

An appeal has been made for witnesses after telephone kiosks in East Lothian and Edinburgh were raided by thieves.

The first incident happened around 7.45pm on Tuesday, February 26 on Musselburgh’s High Street.

A BT phone booth was entered and the cash box was drilled into before a three-figure sum of cash was stolen.

Around an hour later, another kiosk on Saughton Road North also had its cash box drilled into and a three-figure sum of cash was again taken.

Police are now urging anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in either of these areas to get in touch.
