Musselburgh man gets an ASBO

A 39-year-old man has been banned for three years from disturbing neighbours by playing loud music, shouting and swearing in and around his Musselburgh flat.

An Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) was granted by Haddington Sheriff court on January 21 against David Richmond. It prevents him from playing music, shouting and swearing within his flat at 9E (1) Lochend Road South or in the common stair, or allowing guests and visitors to do the same.

The court was told that Mr Richmond’s neighbours have complained in the past about his distressing antisocial behaviour such as playing loud music, shouting and swearing.

A council spokesman said: “David Richmond has shown little consideration for his neighbours up until now, so he left us with little option but to apply for an ASBO to compel him to stop his disruptive behaviour.”
