Musselburgh 100th birthday is a family affair
100th birthday of resident Christina King, St Anne's Care Home, Windsor Gardens. Musselburgh. Christina is pictured with her only son Eric.
Musselburgh resident Christina King celebrated a very big birthday last week in the company of her little brother.
A mere youngster at 98, sibling Freddie Simmonds was among the first to congratulate Chrissie on becoming a centenarian.
The 100th birthday party was held at St Anne’s Care Home, where Chrissie has been living for the past five years and is proud to be the oldest resident.
Chrissie was born in Violet Terrace, Edinburgh, on October 24, 1912 – only six months after the Titanic’s ill-fated maiden voyage.
It was while working as a clerkess in the offices of the SMT bus station in St Andrew Square that she met her future husband, Tommy King.
