MP O’Donnell backs EDM on tax avoidance

Fiona O’Donnell MP is backing moves to ensure that companies and individuals involved in tax avoidance do not profit at the expense of taxpayers by being awarded Government contracts.

It is estimated that the problem of tax avoidance is costing the UK as much as £25 billion a year.

Ms O’Donnell has signed a parliamentary Early Day Motion calling for action to ensure that publicly-funded contracts are not awarded to any company or individual that has been involved in tax avoidance schemes. She is also supporting the General Anti-Tax Avoidance Principle Bill.
