Most East Lothian pupils walk this way to primary school

Six primary schools have received awards for increasing the number of pupils who walk, cycle or scoot to school following an annual survey.

The schools, which received their accolades from Provost Ludovic Broun-Lindsay at Port Seton Community Centre, were Aberlady Primary, Cockenzie Primary, Law Primary, Prestonpans Infant School, St Gabriel’s Primary and Wallyford Primary.

This follows the Walk to School Week survey of 6,629 primary pupils carried out in May that showed 5,813 (77 per cent) of pupils use sustainable travel methods to get to school with most walking.
