Man is banned from East Lothian villages

A man described as an “habitual criminal” has been banned from entering the villages of Elphinstone and Ormiston.

East Lothian Council has been successful in securing a full antisocial behaviour order against 33-year-old Mark Robertson of 106 Northfield, Tranent.

The ASBO, granted by Haddington Sheriff Court earlier this month, prevents him from entering Elphinstone, Ormiston and the hamlet of Ormiston Hall, where he had stolen from a number of properties.

The court was told that Robertson had a history of theft and housebreaking in East Lothian and elsewhere in Scotland.
