Three lucky residents of Longniddry are celebrating this week, after their addresses won them a total of £50,000 with People’s Postcode Lottery.

The winning postcode, EH32 0QR led TV celebrity and People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Angus Purden to Dean Park in the East Lothian village to surprise the lucky winners with their cheques.

Janette Gough and her husband Ron, who play with two tickets, are now planning a special golden wedding celebration after scooping £20,000.

“It’s our 50th wedding anniversary in January, so we are going to use the money to celebrate,” said Janette.

“My family live out in New Zealand and we haven’t seen them since 2004 – a trip out there to celebrate with everyone together would be absolutely fantastic.”

Playing with one ticket, Patricia Haddow was “very surprised” when she saw her cheque for £10,000 being revealed by Angus Purden.

Husband Jim said: “We signed up to play People’s Postcode Lottery when it first started as we liked the idea that by playing, we were also supporting charities here in Scotland.

A third resident of Dean Park, who also plays with two tickets, won a fantastic £20,000.
