Looking to Musselburgh’s future

The restoration of Musselburgh’s historic Old Town Hall and Tollbooth will take a step forward next month.

A small working group was set up by Musselburgh Museum and Heritage Group earlier this year to investigate and draw up a plan of the action for the project, considered to be long overdue.

Led by local experts Paul Lambie, a retired architect, and Barry Turner, a retired planner, the working group has held meetings with Heritage Scotland, Scottish Historic Buildings Trust, as well as representatives of the Big Lottery Fund and other funding bodies. The group was encouraged by the positive feedback on its proposals.
