Musselburgh residents are being urged to have their say on plans to relocate the town’s main Post Office.

Public consultation is taking place on a proposal to move the facility from 105 High Street to vacant shop premises on the opposite side of the road at 176 High Street.

The Post Office branch would transfer along with the Poundstretcher store in which it is currently located. The same range of services would continue to be available between the same opening hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, and Saturday 9am to 12.30pm.

Post Office spokesman Brian Turnbull said: “The subpostmaster has an opportunity to move this branch into new modern premises. Our partners and agents operate sub Post Office branches alongside their private retail business and it is important that they make the best use available resources.”
