A plan to site an all-weather sports pitch in North Berwick has attracted concern from nearby residents.

East Lothian Council has already installed 3G facilities Musselburgh, Tranent and Haddington, and proposes others in Dunbar, North Berwick and Prestonpans.

But householders in Greenheads Road, which lies next to the proposed site at the Recreation Park in North Berwick, are worried about the impact on their amenity.

Linda Hall told the News: “I want to see kids enjoying themselves and giving them something to do but, on the negative side, this will ruin the house I have lived in for 25 years.

“There will be 10 feet of wire mesh fence immediately on the other side of the road and floodlighting will be problem and we are also worried about parking. We want a curfew on floodlighting.”
