Police in North Berwick are appealing for witnesses following an incident where a man indecently exposed himself to a woman.

The incident happened around 6.15am today (Monday), in Cromwell Road.

The victim, who is 21, was on her way to work when she was confronted by the man as she approached the junction of Fidra Road and Cromwell Road. He exposed himself before running off on Fidra Road.

He is described as white, in his 20s or 30s, medium build, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall, and wearing dark trousers and a dark woollen tammy hat with a scarf over his face.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “While the victim was not injured she was left understandably shaken as a result of her ordeal, and we are appealing for anyone with any information that can assist us in tracing the suspect to come forward.

“Anyone who was in the area earlier today, who saw anyone acting suspiciously, should contact police immediately. Likewise anyone who recognises the description of the suspect, or who has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should also get in touch.”
