Help needed for film about holidays in North Berwick
Help is needed for a TV series which will feature holidays in North Berwick in bygone days. Hopscotch Films are making a six part programme for BBC Scotland about 'The Films of Scotland' – a vast collection of 160 documentaries made between 1938 and 1981 about industry, tourism, Scottish life and culture.
The company is trying to track down people to be interviewed for the 'Holidays' episode of the series.
In 1963 a film was made in North Berwick entitled 'A View From the Bass.'
It showed the holiday activities and tourist attractions including the tidal pool at the harbour, beach, Bass Rock, the Law and golf course.
Hopscotch would like to hear from anyone who holidayed in North Berwick in the 1960s, spent their summers in the town, took part in a beauty pageant, used the tidal pool and attended swimming galas.
The film-makers would also like to speak to any locals who owned or worked in any of the bed and breakfasts, hotels or caravan parks in the 1960s.
