Hearts supporters invite you to hop on board

'It's down at Tynecastle they bide' - so why not take the hassle out of travelling from Musselburgh to Gorgie and back by joining the oldest existing Hearts supporters club in the world?

Members of Musselburgh Hearts Supporters Club have been travelling to home ties since 1946.

With buses leaving North High Street — outside Musselburgh and Fisherrow Welfare Club — around an hour before kick-off at every home game, there are plenty of reasons to climb aboard.

According to club secretary Jim Montgomery, local fans are able to enjoy some friendly banter and singing en route to watching their heroes play football.

Atmosphere

He told the News: "We have a good mix of age groups and sexes. There is never any bother and the bus drops you off right outside Tynecastle.

"It takes all the hassle out of getting to games as you don't need to worry about having a drink or parking the car — and it's a great atmosphere on the bus."

With 35 members at present, the club can organise travel to cup games and away fixtures if demand is strong enough.

It also makes representation — via delegates — to the Federation of Hearts Supporters' Clubs.
