Haddington Pipe Band marks long service of pipe major

A surprise was in store for retired pipe major David Leckie.

He was treated to a surprise ‘This is Your Life’ presentation to mark his “outstanding contribution” of 32 years leading Haddington Pipe Band during its public performances.

Mr Leckie, who retired as pipe major last year, will continue in the band as a senior piper.

Messages of thanks and congratulations were read out by John McMillan in the guise of ‘This is Your Life’ presenter Eamonn Andrews and he was presented with the big red book, and engraved silver chanter.
