New Moderator of Presbytery of Lothian, Jennifer Macrae, at St Mary's Parish Church, Haddington

Haddington minister Reverend Jennifer Macrae is the new Moderator of the Church of Scotland’s Lothian Presbytery.

She was officially inducted at a meeting of the presbytery at St Andrew’s High Church in Musselburgh last week.

Mrs Macrae (58), who has been minister of historic St Mary’s Parish Church for the past five years, said her new appointment was a “great honour” and she was “gobsmacked” to be invited to take up the role.

She admitted to being bit nervous but added that she was also very excited about her year in office.
