Photographs taken for Haddington Pipe Band’s 2013 calendar are featured in an exhibition at the Peter Potter Gallery in Haddington.

Entitled ‘Local Customs, Traditions and Folklore,’ the shots are the work of local photographers John Archibald and Nick Callaghan, with additional photography from Garry Menzies. Using models from the pipe band they capture a series of tales from the area.

This year’s cover photo is a take on the Haddington crest with one of the band members feeding grapes to a goat. A shot has also been taken to represent each month of the year. Most of the most atmospheric photos features the tale of the wizard of Goblin Ha’ who reputedly raised the dead and had an army of hobgoblins. Taken by Mr Archibald, it portrays the 13th century wizard Sir Hugo de Giffard with four goblins in his vaulted chamber at Yester Castle.
