Shop window competition in Haddington.

Primary school children in Haddington voted Gibson’s as their favourite Christmas shop window in the town.

This is the second time the Market Street retailer, which sells, china, glassware, watches, jewellery and other gifts, has won the challenge shield which is awarded by the Haddington Business Association. Last year’s winner Erica’s the florist was the runner-up this time round. Eight-year-old Thomas Campbell from King’s Meadow Primary School, also won a prize draw, receiving £50 worth of vouchers to spend in any business association shop.

Mrs Pat Lemmon from the business association, said: “We thought that this year it would be great to get the primary school children from Haddington to vote for the best window. The children that took part seemed to take it very seriously and some were even walking about with clipboards, it was lovely to watch. Best of all, more shops than ever joined in this year helping make the town centre as festive as possible.”
