Garvald children’s fine way with words

Children from the Garvald area proved they are budding poets in a successful competition to promote their local website.

Their work on the theme ‘Stars,’ linking with National Poetry Day, was judged by Edinburgh Makar Ron Butlin.

The poetry contest was organised by the Garavald web team to highlight the www.garvald.org.uk community website which is funded by the Garvald Village Hall Trust and sponsored by Lothian Broadband Ltd.

The Scottish Poetry Library provided poetry books, postcards and badges as prizes.
