East Lothian Councillor Leader Willie Innes and Susan Napier, Business Development Director of Dunedin Canmore Housing Association, congratulate Paul Hamilton (middle) on his new tenancy at recently completed Rollo Court, High Street, Prestonpans

A new £2m housing development was officially opened in Prestonpans last week, with the presentation of keys to one of its first tenants.

The hand-over to Paul Hamilton by East Lothian Council leader Willie Innes marked the completion of the Rollo Court development in High Street.

It comprises 18 new homes, developed in partnership by the council and Dunedin Canmore Housing Association. Nine of the homes will be rented to council tenants with the remainder earmarked for shared ownership by the housing association.

The new homes were built by local builder Robert Rollo and Sons, who previously owned the site. The project provided job security for a local builder and also local sub-contractors and suppliers.

It brings the total number of homes on the site to 26, eight having previously been built by Dunedin Canmore for social rent.
