The New Year started in East Lothian with the creation of 30 jobs to meet growing demand for care.

Independent Living Services (ILS Scotland Ltd), the community-based “care at home” company, is embarking on another recruitment drive as part of its continued expansion in the county.

ILS provides services on contract to East Lothian Council to help the elderly and people with disabilities to cope in their own homes.

The company is looking for a range of full-time, part-time and relief support workers in East Lothian including Tranent, Haddington, Dunbar, Gullane and North Berwick.

Operations director Robin Sidebottom said: “Scotland’s elderly population is predicted to rise by more than half a million over the next two decades.”
