Fiona is Shop Local winner

Fiona Blair from Dunbar, has scooped joint first prize in the 2012 Shop Local competition run by East Lothian Council along with local independent retailers.

She was presented with her prize at Leisure Time Sports in Market Street, Haddington, by Councillor John McMillan, cabinet spokesman for economic development.

She received £150 of Shop Local vouchers. The other prize winner was a visitor from Whitley Bay.

The competition, which is now in its sixth year, ran from November 1 to Christmas Eve. Anyone spending £20 or more at a participating local retailer was given an entry card for the competition to win a share of £1,500 worth of Shop Local vouchers.

Fiona spent more than £20 in Leisure Time Sports and the card she submitted was pulled out as the winner. There were a futher 24 winners of a £50 Shop Local voucher.
