End of an era as Scout Hall to go

A celebration barbecue is to be held to mark the end of an era with the demolition of the much-loved Scout Hall in Dunbar.

The wooden structure, like the Countess Youth and Community Centre, will be knocked down to make way for new community facilities on the Bleachingfield.

The local organisations will occupy the new building planned by East Lothian Council.

All those who have been involved with Scouting in Dunbar are being invited to a celebration in the hall at 3pm on Saturday, June 19, and it is hoped they will take along photos and other memorabilia to share with youngsters.

Anyone who would like to attend the celebration or who has a story to tell about Dunbar Scouting is asked to contact Mr Napier on 01368 860345.
