East Lothian staff congratulated for their winning ways
ScotRail awards.
Two East Lothian rail employees have received accolades for customer service and innovation.
Catherine McNeill from Haddington, and Peter Forbes of Musselburgh, were presented with ScotRail’s 2012 ‘Outstanding Contribution Awards’ at a ceremony in the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
Hosted by Real Radio’s Ewen Cameron, the reception was attended by 150 ScotRail staff and guests.
Mrs McNeill (52), who works at Haymarket Station’s booking office, received her award for excellent work despite difficult circumstances.
The married mother-of-three suffers from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Despite the impact on her health, she continues to deliver the first class customer service that she has become renowned for during her six years at ScotRail.
Mr Forbes (51), who is based at Haymarket depot stores, received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Innovation Award’ for an idea developed along with former colleague William Scott, now retired.
Their cost and time saving procedure for repairing CCTV hard-drive cassettes – used to record footage on Class 170 trains in-house – proved to be a winner.
