East Lothian man dies after Borders collision

An East Lothian man has died following a road accident in the Borders last week.

John Barr (64), from West Saltoun, was cycling along the Traquair to Innerleithen road around 1,30pm on Thursday, September 27, when he was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic.

Mr Barr was taken to hospital suffering from serious head, leg and pelvic injuries, and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he passed away on Wednesday morning.
