East Lothian branch marks 60th birthday

The Corn Exchange in Haddington was the venue for the celebration of a major milestone in the history of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in East Lothian.

Guest of honour at the 60th anniversary event was RSCDS chairman John Wilkinson, accompanied by his wife Ruby.

The branch was also delighted to welcome several former members who had an opportunity to catch up and reminisce.

The company enjoyed a buffet meal, provided by Lynn Lund, after a warm welcome by branch chairman Jennifer Hignell.

Mr Wilkinson proposed a toast to the branch before presenting scrolls to Jean Grant and Margaret Hancock in recognition of their outstanding work in East Lothian. Jean has taught at the successful Boggs Scottish Country Dance Club for many years and has been the mainstay of the Haddington Club for many years.
