A raffle at Dunbar Rotary Club’s annual ‘President’s Ball’ at Dunbar Golf Club raised £422 for the organisation’s polio campaign.

Members and their guests were also encouraged to wear a splash of purple at the event in support of the global initiative ‘End Polio Now.’

President Robin Hamilton highlighted the campaign’s achievements, saying: “When Rotary’s fight against polio started in 1985, 1,000 new cases of the disease were diagnosed daily throughout the world. Now there are a total of only 200 cases reported annually in three countries and with our help to continue a universal immunisation programme, we are determined to rid the world of this crippling disease.”
