County in with a chance of award

East Lothian is in the running to win a Creative Place Award and £150,000 prize.

The county has been shortlisted for the Creative Scotland accolades alongside Orkney and Kilmarnock in the category for areas with under 100,000 residents.

The winners will be be announced at the award ceremony in the Byre Theatre, St Andrew’s, on Wednesday, January 23.

Now in their second year, the awards were established to celebrate and recognise the hard work and imagination that contributes to the rich cultural life of a community as well as its social and economic well-being.
