Schools and nurseries in Prestonpans are being consulted on the £80,000 redevelopment of a run down play park.
Prestoungrange and Cuthill Tenants and Residents Group has secured funding from East Lothian Council to upgrade the park in Rigley Terrace, which locals feel has been sadly neglected in recent years.
With the backing of the council and the community, the group now hopes to transform it into a safe and attractive recreational space.
The park was identified as a priority for action as a result of consultation carried out by the group when it was established in 2011.
Following its successful campaign for funding, it has now sent out survey forms to Prestonpans Infant School, Prestonpans Primary, St Gabriel’s Primary to find out what local youngsters would like see in the park.
The forms are due back at the end of this week and will be discussed at the group’s next meeting on March 7.
