Charity biscuits on sale in aid of Scottish deaf golfers
Designed and baked by the Premium Roll Company, 'Golfers' Balls' biscuits are being sold at Knowes Farm Shop, near East Linton, to raise funds to support the participation of the Scottish Deaf Golf Team in the 2010 World Deaf Golf Championships, to be hosted in St Andrews in August.
Dunbar Golf Club member Michael Tweedie (31), right, has been selected to play in the Scottish Deaf Golf Team. He also happens to be a nephew of the Cochrans, who run Knowes Farm Shop
Golfers Balls are the third in the ‘lovely biscuits’ series — created to raise charity funds at Knowes. Enthusiastically supported by customers, the sale of earlier biscuits, raised over 800 for Breast Cancer Research, while a sale of ‘anchor biscuits’ managed to fetch over 1,100 for a new lifeboat in Dunbar.
Sold singly for 65p or in four packs for 2.40, the biscuits are available only from Knowes Farm Shop and the Tasty Toasty Snack Bar at Dunbar Harbour, and will be available only until the end of July.
More than 500 have already been sold.
