Marathon man Derek Stuart visited Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) Edinburgh head office last week to celebrate raising more than £28,000 for the charity.

The Haddington man completed the Sahara Desert challenge which involves six marathons in seven days with brother Jamie Stuart, who lives in London, and friend Mark Snodgrass.

CHAS outdoor events manager Jon Heggie said: “Just 140 competitors took part in the Sahara Race coping with temperatures up to 50°C.”
