Centre to move to new home in Haddington

A new home has been found for Haddington Day and District Centre which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Pensioners, who used the present Church Street facility, will shortly be moving into part of 9 to 11 Lodge Street.

The new premises are the result of talks between East Lothian Council and the day centre management committee.

Councillor Donald Grant, cabinet member for health and social care, explained: “Discussions took place to identify suitable premises for the centre as the current day centre has limited space and unable to offer the range of age appropriate activities required for its members. The new accommodation will include a large lounge area, dining room, quiet room and treatment room.”
