Caring charity champion from Musselburgh praised as he steps down

The end of the year will bring the end of an era for Carers of East Lothian as they say farewell to Tony Segall, who has managed the charity for the past 14 years.

Tony, who has been responsible for the development of a wide range of services for family carers across the county, is leaving to take a career break and pursue other interests.

When he first joined the charity, based in Musselburgh’s High Street, there was little public or official recognition of the crucial part played by carers in helping frail, ill or disabled relatives, friends and loved ones to remain at home and get the best out of life.

Under Tony’s leadership, Carers of East Lothian now provides information, advice, practical and emotional support to more than 1,150 carers.
